why is a round of boxing 3 minutes long?
in professional men's boxing each round lasts 3 minutes, why?
i know there are 12 3 minute rounds and total boxing time is 36 minutes and that each rest break is 1 minute which makes the whole match 48 minutes long.
what i want to know is the meaning, purpose or reason each round is 3 minutes long.

2 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoWhich Country Music Star Retired Four Years Ago?
Just watched the CMA awards on TV and their commercials were saying there would be a country star that hasn't been seen for 4 years on the show but I didn't see them. Did I miss that part? Were they not there? Does anyone know who is was or was supposed to be?
5 AnswersCountry1 decade agoWhat is the name of the Drummer with the long brown hair, beard and mustache from Celtic Woman?
I have looked everywhere on the net for a list of the orchestra members and can't find any information. I would LOVE a list of all the artists if someone knows. But in particular the drummer.
I own the Celtic Woman: A New Journey DVD and went to their concert in Raleigh NC on Fri March 30th (It was AWESOME BTW) but cannot find the names of the "cast" members other then the 5 principle players.
Any help would be appreciated….THANKS :)
2 AnswersMusic1 decade agoAny Advice from Dental Professionals...Dr Sam???
(second posting of this question)
I have had chronic and severe pain in my teeth on the right side for several years. In particular it seems to effect teeth #'s 4, 5, 6, 30, 27 and 24. I have gone to several dentists and have even had RCT done on #'s 5 and 30 but nothing seems to alleviate the pain.
All the radiographs I have ever had done never show any caries present on any of my teeth and there is no evidence of a TMJ disorder. Also I have had an occlusal adjustment on several occasions but it never seems to improve the problem.
Is there some systemic or perhaps chemical condition that could be causing this pain? Or could it be a case of damage to the nerves leading to these teeth and if so, is there a way to test for such?
I would very much appreciate any informative answer by a dental professional ....thank you.
