I have a friend who lost his flatscreen tv, refrigerator, two air conditioning units and his computer due to problems with wiring in his house that he rents. The electric company came out to inspect the outside lines and the outside ground wire. They said that everything was okay on their part and it must be a problem with the wiring on the inside. I know the landlord is responsible for fixing the wiring but is my friend SOL on all of his appliances and such? Should he call a lawyer? Thank you for any advice you can give.

My friend recently lost her job on the 17th of December. She asked me how would the Affordable Care Act would work for her since she has no income whatsoever beyond her food stamps. Can she get health care to provide the medications that she needs? Or will she have to go without care and pay the fine to the IRS?

She is trying to find work, but being that her job was within walking distance it is difficult to find one without transportation. Any advice would be much appreciated.

The motherboard is an Asus M4A88T-M. As soon as the computer goes to sleep it wakes up immediately. I've disabled the mouse/keyboard wake up feature in Windows 7 which does not affect the problem. I looked for an option to disable LAN wakeup, USB port wakeups in the BIOS. There are none. Is there a simple way to just tell the computer to never wake up unless I press the power button on the front of the computer?

I've heard many people complain about only waking it up from the power button but I really don't see the problem there, just an excellent solution albeit non-OCD/laziness. TIA!

This new program with Windows Live is absolutely ridiculous. What were they thinking? All I want to do is put a couple of songs I wrote up on YouTube with a background of the album cover. You would think that would be simple.

I have Adobe Premiere and created the video in two seconds with it but the file size is ENORMOUS. Therefore, 1hr 30min to upload a 2min video. LOL

I've wondered what the name of it was for years, I've never seen a rom for it. It had two large buttons that you would mash alternately to make the trucks crush more cars or the tractor to pull further. The two buttons were in the shape of wheels if I remember correctly. There was no joystick. It was a side scroller. I used to play it at a bowling alley I lived near in Pennsylvania somewhere between 1988 - 1991. I slightly remember it being called "Saturday" something, but I could be wrong. TIA!

I was getting ready to rent Dead Space 2 for PS3 and it reads on the game's page:

OK, this has been ongoing for months. It also is not consistent, sometimes it drives for a few weeks without a problem.

The car starts and idles perfectly, but when getting to around 2500 RPMs it bucks and acts like it wants to shut off. When it is somewhat violently bucking like that, if you let off the gas it is fine and the car does not stall or misfire, it's only when trying to give it more gas.

We've tried just about everything and spent hundreds. The following have been replaced: fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs, wires, all three coil packs, fuel pressure regulator. Also, unhooked the MAF sensor, it was not the problem. An OBDII scan provides no results/codes.

The vehicle has had an untraceable short somewhere as long as I can remember. We've taken all bulbs, fuses out that weren't necessary hoping we could stop the drain on the battery.

The car has 150K miles on it and so far we've replaced the battery 5 times, alternator 3 times, water pump, radiator, hoses, 4 belts, harmonic balancer and god knows what else. At 80K the car overheated and cracked the thermostat housing. The transmission recently started slipping also when turning.

I will have to say that this particular vehicle (driven by my wife) is the absolute worst I've ever seen. We have kept up with every bit of maitenance and it's sad that we may have to junk the car before it even rolls over 150,000 miles. Any help or advice is much appreciated, I hate to get rid of it since we have so many new parts on the car in the last year.

I'm a little confused and would like to know if this phone has the same navigation as my old original Droid. Is Google Maps and the whole "Car Home" thing with navigation included? If it is included, what is this whole VZ Navigator for $10 more a month? TIA!!

I'm being sued for a personal student loan that was taken out almost 10 years ago. I thought I had been paying my student loans for many years now on time and in full. Out of nowhere, a law firm is now suing me for a loan they waited 10yrs to collect on.

Ok, so my question is: The promissory note states the lender is in Illinois and the note is to be entered into that state. I have never lived in that state, I have always lived in Florida which has a statute of limitations of 5yrs on a written contract.

Can the IL SOL be upheld? Can my lawyer push for the Florida SOL? I've heard that sometimes a judge will throw the case out if he deems it to be unfair. They seriously did not contact me for 10 years!

I just got duped into a 40% interest loan on a car. I know, I'm stupid but there was nothing else I could do and I can more than afford it. So... I'm thinking of calling my uncle and asking him to co-sign on a refinance and get the rate down to around 10-12% or just take out a personal loan with a co-signer. See what I'm saying? How does this work? Am I scr*wed?

I'm being sued for breach of contract on two Federal Promissory Notes. These loans were consolidated years ago and are paid on time and in full each month and can be proven in triplicate.

Can I counter sue them? Under which law?
