  • Which is the best diaper service in Toronto?

I'm trying to decide which diaper service to go with: Comfy Cotton Diaper Service or Teddy Bear Diaper Service. There is also Happy Nappy Diaper Service, however, they are a little more expensive but if someone has experience with this service I would be interested to hear about it.

  • Anyone had a home birth?

I am planning on having my baby at home. Has anyone had a home birth? What was it like, how did you manage the pain? What did you do with the placenta? I am currently renting an apartment so I would be interested in hearing about other moms who gave birth in their apartments and what their neighbors thought! hahaha - did you let them know before hand? Was there a lot of clean up afterward?

    Thanks!

  • 24 weeks pregnant with random cramping in abdomen?

I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and have random cramping in my abdomen. Like, i'll have one or two cramps a day - some days not at all...they aren't enough to count, or even say how much time is between them...they are literally one or two cramps and then go away...I'm just worried that this might be a sign of early labour. It could also just be gas or poo cramps? Has anyone experience cramps like this?

  • Do I have the flu - i'm pregnant and paranoid!?

I had a little bit of a sore throat on the right side which went away overnight but now I have a bit of jaw pain and I noticed when I bend over I can feel sinus pressure and pressure in the right jaw area. Could this be a cold or flu slowly progressing. What homeopathic remedies are there to prevent these symptoms from progressing? I've been taking lots of vitamin C and had a tea of lemon, ginger, garlic and honey that seemed to make the sore throat subside.

Also, what is the average amount of time it takes for flu/swine flu symptoms to appear?

  • Radiator problems: hissing, clanking, not heating up...?

I live in a building with six different apartments all heated by radiant water heat. I live in the first floor apartment and my heaters are almost too hot to touch! I have a friend living on the third floor and her heaters are barely room temperature. Her heaters hiss and my heaters clank and click. I am going to be moving up to her apartment in January and I don't want to freeze my butt off! How can we fix this, ideally, without having to call in a specialist?

    Thanks!

  • Overactive thyroid and pregnant?

I just got my first set of blood tests from my doctor and he told me I seem to have an overactive thyroid and hes worried I might have Hashimotos syndrome - I am freaking out. I am 13 weeks pregnant and never had a problem with my thyroid before. Is this something that could have developed simultaneously with my pregnancy or something that could be caused by my pregnancy. Doctors never seem to give you sufficient answers - they just want to rush you out of there. All he told me was he was referring my to an endocronologist and faxing the results to my OBGYN. I'm scared and of course reading about it on the internet only scared me more!

  • Swelling after knee surgery?

My dad recently had knee surgery and he is complaining about swelling around his knee that is preventing him from getting the amount of flexibility he needs. Its been about three weeks since the operation. He says it feels like there is fat around his knee that is preventing it from bending to 120 degrees - hes at about 90 degrees. Are there any exercises, foods, techniques he can use to help disperse some of the fat/swelling around his knee? Has anyone ever had the same problem? Any information will be much appreciated.

  • Computer help? May be a virus?

Recently, my computer has been acting up. After it is on for an extended amount of time it begins to run very slowly - my mouse cursor jumps around the screen when I move and responds slowly. Also, when I watch streaming video the sound and video go out of sync. Programs take longer to open etc.

I downloaded PCTuner to clean up old registry files and stuff like that - it found a lot of junk and my CPU usage went from flatlining at 100% to jumping up and down again. But I still have the same problem: after the computer has been on for awhile it slows down. And even when I have NO programs open the CPU is jumping around all over the place. And when I go to Processes Internet Explorer is taking up the most CPU time - or whatever it is- and its not even open!?

Is this a virus? If so, where can I download the best free software to get rid of it?

Thank you soo much for reading my rambling

  • Why did people find the death of a shark at Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas so funny?

I saw on TMZ a few nights ago that a shark jumped out of his enclosure and onto a water slide into a chlorinated pool an died shortly after. They were laughing and making fun of this terrible situation. I, personally, did not find it funny at all. Sharks are on the brink of being endangered and no one seems to care or notice...What do you guys think? Is it funny, disturbing or you just don't care?

  • My two kittens are driving me crazy!?

I have two three and a half month old kittens...they are at that stage where they knock anything they possibly can over, destroy rolls of toilet paper (and anything else they can - they really seem to like paper products tho...), they poop and eat like maniacs and they sound like a million pounds when they chase each other. I live on the top floor of a house and I know the noise carries - which stresses me out...everything about them apart from when they are sleeping and purring like little angels stresses me out. Thy bite and meow and wrestle on the bed at four in the morning.

I'm getting to the point where I want to throw them out the window or give them away...what can I do to subside some of their insane behaviour or perhaps just some tips to deal with it? Thanks!

  • Why do Canadians care more about American politics than their own?

    Does anyone else notice this?

*I will rate every stupid/ignorant response until I have no points left to do so. So, please, be real and mature about it....*

  • Will a six year old cat and two kittens get along?

I have a six year old tortoise shell girl cat named Pumpkin. We adopted a half Siamese half domestic (boy) cat, Budder, in the spring. They were getting along ok for the most part, she mostly tried to ignore him and mind her business. Unfortunately, Budder got hit by a car and passed away. My boyfriend and I were obviously devastated.

Now we're planning on adopting one of his little brothers (the pet store owner offered us the cat for free!). While were we visiting in the store we also saw a young, black female kitten. She was all alone because the new litter of Budders brothers and sisters were still at the owners home with their mom. We really wanted to adopt her as well.

Plus we're moving at the end of the month in October.

So my question is: Would it be a good idea to introduce both these kittens, the black female tabby and the stray-amese, into Pumpkins home? I just don't want her to feel neglected or unloved... There's plenty of love to go around in our house! Would this be too much change for our little Pumpkin princess?
