Is there a temporary fix for a leaking power steering hose? I have to wait two days before I can get it to the shop, and have to drive it back and forth to work, school, etc... HELP!

this is a stupied question !!!! but help me !!! on the colume under the hood there is two bar's runing off the colume to the tranmission to shift the truck into gear { my question is ? } witch way does the bar's got to be to shift them into gear they was stuck and in side the truck on the colume it wouldn't shift i opened the hood and moved the bar's on the colume and it worked but now i can not get it to shift in to gear while the truck is running while the truck is off i can shift into gear just fine !!! , what do i need to do to get it to shift while it is running

Will run fine for awhile, then it may die while going down the road. Sometimes, starts right back up or have to wait a few minutes. Have had ECR(EGR?)valve replaced, tuneup done, new plug wires, new battery (all w/i last 2 weeks). Usually, before it dies (going down the road), the car acts like I have goosed the gas pedal & rpms drop. Fuel pump was replaced last year. Overall, has been a great car - no check engine light or other security light is coming on. 97k miles. All filters have checked out good.

Per owners manual, push knob all way in or out - doesn't work.
