  • 2 Location File Share?

Ok, here is the situation. I have countertop business. I have a Shop where everything is made and a Showroom. I use Quickbooks Pro 2003. I need the quickbooks file at my shop so i know what im doing, and the secretary at the showroom needs access to do all the estimates/billing etc. For about 6 months i have been using a "Server" (a computer with no monitor that runs xp pro) that runs quickbooks and is connected to via remote desktop connection from the showroom. It is a good setup, but there are too many flaws. I am wondering if i should setup a VPN, and if so, how, or do what i have been doing? also, my other problem is there is tons of VERY thick dust in the shop where the server sits, and it has shut down 2 times already because of the dust. i am not sure what to do to keep the dust out other than stick the machine in the bathroom :). Any ideas? i think a vpn would be good but i am not sure what i should do. also, the buildings are too far away from each other to use antennas to keep both locations in the same LAN. All help is greatly appreciated and best answer gets 10 points (like you didn't already know that!)
